How Many Chances Should You Give a Guy Before You End a Relationship?

By  |  8 Comments

Should you give him another chance after what he said or what he did? It really does depend on what you are giving him another chance at. It is reasonable to give him a few chances to remember to put the toilet seat down because it is not a major offense like having an affair. The key word is reasonable. If a man constantly lies about where he is and you keep catching him, if you don’t end the relationship, you have basically accepted the behavior and it becomes a part of your relationship.

How Many Chances Should You Give a Guy Before You End a Relationship

Relationships should have set, permanent boundaries, not temporary ones. If you do not want to be with a man who lies all the time, then end your relationship with the man who is lying to you all the time. When people knows they can get away with something, not only will they do it, but they doesn’t fear the consequences of doing it. Why? Because there are none. (And please don’t think you yelling or getting pissed is a consequence to them, it really isn’t. It is a consequence to you. YOU go through those emotions. They do not. You cannot say you won’t tolerate a man who cheats on you and stay with a man who continues to cheat on you. You obviously tolerate it, and he knows it. Think he will do it again? Better question to ask yourself would be “Why wouldn’t he?”

Most people believe in second chances. They want to hope they would be given a second chance if they screwed up, and I understand that. It is one thing to screw in a minor way and hope or feel you deserve a second chance. It is another thing to think you can do something that will end a relationship and get a second chance. The things that end relationships are serious and in many cases you won’t get a second chance. Do they really deserve a second chance when they cheated on you? That is up to the individual. No one deserves a second chance if they physically abused you in any way shape or form. So how many chances should you give him? Chances are, if you are reading this article, you already gave him too many.
